What's in a Tacpac®?

There are two packs to choose from:
Tacpac® One and Tacpac® Two.
Each pack contains:

Material for a whole year 18 activities across three sessions, representing material for potentially a whole year cycle
Tacpac CDs
3 CDs of music, one to accompany each session of six activities.

Tacpac® One has CDs 1, 2 and 3
Tacpac® Two has CDs 4, 5 and HandyPac

Tacpac laminates 3 laminates, one with each CD, using cartoons to describe the activities in detail, and the objects and textures to use with the music for each session

Tacpac® Two has

Tacpac guidance booklet Guidance booklet - packed with suggestions on how to make the most of Tacpac®, including ideas for observation, monitoring progress (also using P scales), adapting to themes (e.g. Christmas or Summer)
NB Objects are NOT included.

One of the sessions in Tacpac Two® is called ‘HandyPac’ and uses only hands, ideal for a session if you want to set up quickly with just a CD player. The sessions across the two packs have huge diversity of tactile sensations and music, and can be introduced in any order.

East Midlands Multi Sensory Impairment (MSI) Conference - A day on multi-sensory awareness, with Tacpac as the central focus.

SPEVI Biennial Conference, Perth (South Pacific Educators for Visual Impairment) - A research paper on Tacpac was presented that includes perspectives of parents, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and music therapists. 'Tacpac - a tactile approach to communication through touch' by Sue Murray and Rosemarie Ells (New Zealand), and Hilary Wainer (Oxford).
